What every Lee County voter should know

A few facts that explain how the school board is structured and why this race matters.

Q. Who can vote for Jenn?
Only voters who live inside Lee County School Board District 1. Districts 1 through 5 are single-member districts, meaning the seat is decided by the people who live in that district, not by all of Lee County. Use the lookup above to confirm your district.
Q. How is the school board organized?
Lee County has seven school board members. Five are elected by single-member districts (Districts 1 through 5). Two are elected at-large by all Lee County voters (Districts 6 and 7). Every voter in the county can vote for the two at-large seats, but only the district's own residents pick the single-member seats.
Q. Is this a partisan race?
No. Florida school board elections are officially nonpartisan. There are no party labels on the ballot, no party primary, and no party endorsement printed beside any name. The race is decided in the regular election on the dates set by the Supervisor of Elections.
Q. When is the election?
The 2026 Florida Primary Election is Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The General Election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. School board races are typically decided in the primary if a candidate wins more than 50 percent; otherwise the top two go to November. Confirm dates at lee.vote.
Q. I am not in District 1. Can I still help?
Yes. You cannot vote in this race, but you can donate, volunteer, share posts, host a meet and greet, or simply tell one neighbor in District 1 about the race. Local races are decided by a few hundred votes. Word of mouth matters.
Q. How do I register or update my address?
Register or update your information at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov. To vote in the August 18 primary, you generally need to be registered by 29 days before the election. Always check current deadlines at lee.vote.
